CEMA001 – Dissident ‘Phrases Of Life’

Limited to just a few copies, the first album release on Adaptation's sister label, Cosmic Elements is a smooth jazz offering from U.S artist Dissident.

Hailing from downtown New York, Dissident is no stranger to the smooth jazz scene having worked with the likes of Quincy Jones and Miles Davis over the last couple of decades.

Their first album under their new alias, entitled ‘Phrases Of Life’ comprises thirteen smooth and laidback jazz grooves laden with fender rhodes chords, horns and soft vocals. Without wanting to waffle in great length about each track, after listening to the album it will be clear to see the quality, experience and love that has gone into producing some fantastic pieces of music.

With a prolific production rate, years of experience at the top of the industry and an eye for quality, Dissident is most definitely a name to watch out for.

Accomplished Tel Aviv based group Asymmetric Soul are welcomed back onto Adaptation Music for their third single 'Let Your Love Come Down', featuring the vocal talents of Shavakeyah and Ben Khesed and remixes by the legendary Baltimore duo of DJ Spen & N'Dinga Gaba.

Asymmetric Recordings head honcho Lonya and the rest of Asymmetric Soul teamed up with one of the original founders of the group, Shavakeyah, whose musical roots boast a father who worked as a professor of music for Motown in its early days and a very famous vocal coach, Motown legend Diana Ross. Alongside her on vocals is a fellow member of the deep, spiritual and musical Black Hebrew Israelite community, Ben Khesed who was one of the original vocalists from the creation of Asymmetric Soul.

U.S house legend DJ Spen teams up with fellow house head N'Dinga Gaba to turn in what we feel is one of their best productions of 2012, which has already rocked the dancefloors of both Southport Weekender and the Amsterdam Dance Event.

DJ Spen has a discography spanning the last 20 years on his own imprints Basement Boys, Code Red & Quantize along with the likes of Defected, Soul Heaven, MN2S, Chez & more. He is also recognised as having produced an array of house anthems alongside fellow producer Karizma and under his alias of Jasper Street Co. His new 'partner in crime' N'Dinga Gaba has been making waves in the last few years, with releases on Sole Channel Music, Foliage, Underground Collective, Sophisticado and various others. Already with a few #1 hits on Traxsource, their successful production partnership shines through again with this massive track finally set to tear up yet more dancefloors over the next few months.
